Concord Farmer's club orignated as a farming community co-op and mainly catered to its members by providing them with a vehicle to purchase farming supplies in bulk at a reduced rate and providing them with a facility at which they could hold their weddings and social events. The members, mainly truck farmers, grew their vegatables and sold them at local public markets including St. Louis' Soulard Farmer's Market, which is still in operation today. Now, the club mainly caters to the community by holding public dances and by making its hall and grounds available for rent by the public. The hall is a popular facility with those hosting weddings, anniversaries and various social events.
Today, the clubs membership contains very few farmers. But, the club is committed to remaining a private club and giving back to the community by running itself as a not-for-profit organization.
